It's an announcement that's bound to make any homeowner cringe.
TTC Chair Karen Stintz will announce Wednesday morning, a 30 year, $30 Billion transit expansion plan that, if approved, will be paid for by a steep property tax hike.
Tax rates would rise about $45/year over the next 4 years, bringing the final cost to an additional $180/year for property taxes.
The transit plan includes a number of subways and LRT's across Toronto. It includes a downtown relief line from Eglinton to Queen, an LRT to the zoo and Malvern Town Centre, a Yonge subway expansion to Steeles, a Bloor subway expansion from Kennedy to up to the Scarborough Town Centre.
The full plan can be viewed here
There's already opposition at city hall. More details on the project will be released during a press conference Wednesday morning.
