Later today Brampton will become the first community in the G-T-A to have a natural burial cemetery and only the third in Canada. The eco-conscious burial includes being laid to rest in a field without any chemical embalming, or lacquered casket, or in some cases even a tombstone. Natural burials are common in Europe and the The Mount Pleasant Group of Cemeteries, who owns the Meadowvale cemetery says if the demand is there they will dedicate more natural burial space at their other cemetaries.
They say it's all about returning to the earth as naturally as possible.
