The reason for the flooding at Union station this past friday was that a contractor working for the city had removed a section of a pipe next to the station.
The station is undergoing a massive revitalization and reconstructing a large sewer was part of it. There was an opening in the system and the heavy rain overwhelmed it.
It marked the second time in three months that the same contractor caused a flood at the station after they accidentally hit a water main in March.
The heavy rain caused chaos and shut down Union station for hours.
