There's a play at city council, to try and bring Canada's game back to the streets of Toronto.
As it stands, street hockey is technically prohibited, but city staff will propose a motion to the public works comittee next month.
The procedure would be on a street by street basis, where residents can request to have road hockey allowed on their street, as long as they garner 80 per cent support from the neighbourhood.
The city would then look at whether the street's layout, density, and speed limit are deemed safe enough.
With that said, the final decision would be in the hands of city council.
