The father and stepmother of a 10-year-old, who was found dead last May, have had their charges upgraded to first-degree murder.
Shakeil Boothe was found inside a Brampton home without any vital signs.
His father, Garfield Boothe, was initially charged with failing to provide the necessities of life, which was later upgraded to second-degree murder.
The boy's stepmother, Nichelle Boothe-Rowe, was originally facing a manslaughter charge.
