5/17/2012
Today is International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia and there will be a flag raising at city hall from 12:30-1:00pm.
Toronto recognizes this important and internationally-recognized day for the 7th consecutive year.
Brian Burke, general manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, will be there. His gay son was killed in a car crash. The Toronto police are sending a senior officer and at least three city councillors will go.
The flag-raising is organized by the Toronto chapter of PFLAG: Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays.
