A man is dead after falling about 100 metres from the Scarborough bluffs to the shallow water below.
The Marine unit was called in to assist with the rescue but the victim was pronounced at the scene.
Rescue crews were called to Undercliff Drive and Cecil Crescent around 1:30 this morning.
Police are yet to release the name of the victim pending notification of next of kin.
