Councillor James Pasternak will present a motion to council on Wednesday afternoon calling for the city to look into adopting an affinity credit card.
The card could be used by Torontonians to help fund city programs, something he believes could bring in much needed revenue every year.
The city would have to partner with Mastercard or Visa for example, with a portion of the transactions going back into city coffers.
Pasternak also has an idea about making the proposed card into a city accepted card that could be used to pay for everything from parking to property taxes.
