The federal competition bureau says it won't challenge the joint purchase of MLSE by BCE and Rogers Communications.
They did say they had a number of serious concerns and will keep a close eye on the outcome for one year and could still bring the matter to a tribunal if it sees any red flags.
The worry is that other content providers may be charged more to air sporting events or be kept out of the loop all together.
The deal worth $1.3 Billion gives the two companies a 75 per cent stake in Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment.
