According to TTC Chair, Karen Stintz, there will be some big improvements to the city's transit service.
The most significant move is the Metrolinx and Toronto council approved plan to make four LRT lines in the city. Stintz said this will add 52km transit service in parts of Scarborough, Etobicoke and the Jane and Finch area.
The project will have a hefty price tag of $8.4 billion, which will be funded by the Ontario government.
Other upgrades include, underground cell phone service and new payment methods, which will allow riders to pay with a Presto card or their smartphone.
