It looks like a spring election, is off the docket.
For now.
Following a meeting between Premier Dalton McGuinty and NDP leader Andrea Horwath, a semi compromise seems to have been reached regarding the budget.
In order to pass it, the Liberal's needed votes from two opposition members, or face being toppled.
McGuinty says he has accepted a proposal from the NDP, and will add a 2% surtax to those making more than $500, 000.
The tax, now titled the NDP Surtax, will raise roughly $450 million, which will all go to deficit reduction.
The tax will be eliminated once the budget is balanced.
