OPP have laid more than 5,500 charges in their spring seatbelt campaign.
The one week initiative wrapped up on Sunday.
Sergeant Dave Woodford say he is surprised by the high number, given there were only 3, 000 up to the end of March.
Another seatbelt blitz will happen in the fall.
