A Florida man has pleaded guilty to trying to smuggle guns into Alberta. George Foster, 54, was arrested back in February at the Coutts border crossing. He reportedly declared to Canada Border Services officers that he had no weapons, but during a search, they uncovered 75 guns, including 48 handguns, a blowgun, a pistol crossbow and twelve high-capacity magazines hidden in his pickup. Investigators called it the largest handgun seizure in the history of Coutts. Foster has received a three-year prison sentence after guilty pleas to four Criminal Code offenses and two Customs Act charges.
