There's one less hat in the ring for next month's Conservative nomination contest in Calgary -Centre.
Alderman John Mar has decided to drop out of the race.
He says he made the decision after consulting with his family.
Mar has three young children and feels his priority should be them.
Mar has long dreamed of serving as a Member of Parliament -- a dream he may pursue at a later date.
Mar will continue to serve as Alderman in Ward 8.
He had not yet filed his nomination papers.
