A smoke detector is getting credit for waking two people in time to escape a house fire this morning in Elbow Park. Fire officials say the blaze broke out in the rear of the house at about one this morning in the 300 block of Elbow Park Lane S.W. The couple called 911, and crews quickly smuffed out the blaze. No word on the cause of the fire or a damage figure.
