More details have been released about some new artwork slated for the new Bow buildings. The information was leaked a couple of years ago about what type of sculpture would sit in front of the Bow. But the design was released on Monday. Artist Jaume Plensa from Spain has been hired to do a 12-metre high head. The head is a large steel-mesh portrait of a young girl and will face the intersection of 6th Avenue and Centre Street in the downtown. The artwork is being fabricated in Calgary. A jury selected the design over 27 others. Plensa is famous for a number of works around the world, including the Crown Fountain in Chicago.
