Corey Bitternose has been declared a dangerous offender for violent attacks on two Banff women four years ago. A Calgary judge says the behaviour of Bitternose was cruel and vicious. Instead of locking him up indefinitely , the judge has issued a sentence of 20 years for all of his offences, giving him credit for 6 years time served. After his sentence he will be kept under tight supervision in the community.
Bitternose was convicted in 2009 of kidnapping and sexual assault. He has a history of violence assaults in Alberta and Saskatchewan.
