The MLA whose job it's been to come up with a safety plan for Highway 63 is recommending the province look at ways to speed up the twinning of the so called "highway of death".
Mike Allen MLA for Fort McMurray-Wood Buffalo is also recommending a dedicated police patrol for the highway, increased penalties for high-risk drivers, and more safety rest areas and pullouts along the highway.
Transportation Minister Rick McIver says they'll be looking to see if the federal government can help with some of the cost.
