A Medicine Hat man convicted of killing his girlfriend's parents and brother has abandoned his bid for an appeal. Jeremy Steinke is serving three life sentences in the April 2006 deaths. He was convicted in 2008 and had called the verdict "unreasonable". The case made headlines and shocked the small Southern Alberta city, as his girlfriend was 12-years-old at the time. Her convictions on three first-degree murder charges made her Canada's youngest multiple killer.
