A Mexican vacation has turned deadly for a Leduc man. Several Mexican newspapers are reporting that 23-year-old Mark Michael Hayduk drowned in front of the Grand Oasis in Cancun's Hotel zone early Thursday morning, after being cautioned not to go into the sea. The reports say Hayduk had been out for a night on the town with some other tourists, and a group of them headed to the beach when they returned to their resort at about 1:30am. One report says the group was told by security guards not to enter the water, but they did anyway, and Hayduk got caught up in the strong waves. He wasn't seen again until his body washed up on shore. An autopsy has reportedly been scheduled. The local media say Hayduk checked into the resort last Friday and was scheduled to stay for one week.
