Eight people, including four from Calgary, have been chosen to receive Alberta's highest honour. The new members will be invested into the Alberta Order of Excellence later this year for their exemplary records of service on the local, provincial, national and international stage. Former Reform Party Leader Preston Manning is one of the Calgarians being singled out along with Roger Jackson, Griffin Lloyd, and Ronald Southern. The Order of Excellence Council says these individuals were chosen because they share a powerful commitment to serving the greater good. The Lieutenant Governor of Alberta will preside over the investiture ceremony in Edmonton on Wednesday, October 17.
