RCMP have awarded a Commanders Certificate of Appreciation to a security guard at Cross Iron Mills Mall.
Khalid Shahid was able to rescue a woman who claimed to be held against her will in a domestic dispute last month.
He was given a note by some shoppers who were given the note by the alleged victim.
Shahid says he approached the woman and was able to get her to the security office.
Once there, he called RCMP who arrested the woman's alleged captor after a violent struggle.
