The Calgary Police HAWC helicopter was instrumental in arresting two robbery suspects last night.
Police were called to the Totem store in the 42-hundred block of Edmonton Trail NE just after 8 o'clock. The manager of the store had allegedly been assaulted by a man and woman suspected of stealing tools who then fled in an SUV. When the vehicle refused to stop for police on 16th Avenue NW the chopper went to work.
The helicopter followed as the vehicle first went to Market Mall where a female suspect was dropped off and subsequently arrested. The SUV then went to Northhill Mall where the driver dumped the vehicle and was later taken into custody.
Charges are pending.
