Calgary Police have laid arson charges after a disgruntled patron allegedly tried to burn down Ranchman's Sunday morning.
Police say a man causing a disturbance at the bar Saturday night was kicked out by staff. Then at two in the morning the same man returned to the bars north doors with a gas can in hand. Police say he poured the gas onto the building's wood siding, doors, and sidewalk, lit it on fire and then took off.
Insp. Keith Kane says fortunately a couple of officers were nearby.Bar staff quickly got the fire out and there was no major damage. Police say this incident could have ended in disaster, with up to 700 people inside the bar at the time.
Billy Sean Quinn of Calgary has been charged with Arson, with Disregard for Human Life.
