It's a banner day for downtown Hamilton.
AM900 CHML is celebrating the official opening of the new visitor information centre at the renovated Lister Block today.
CHML's Bill Kelly and Scott Thompson are broadcasting live from the Lister Block until 3 o'clock this afternoon.
The iconic building at 28 James Street North has undergone a 25-million dollar renovation.
Mayor Bob Bratina says the new Lister Block is the "definitive first step" in downtown revitalization and symbolizes a new era for the core.
Tourism Hamilton and other retailers are setting up shop on the first floor while city employees are moving in to the top floors of the Lister Block.
