The Erie Otters will hold their training camp in Hamilton.
Because of renovations at its home rink in Pennsylvania, the Ontario Hockey League team will set up shop at Ancaster's Morgan Firestone Arena on August 27th.
The Otters were once rumoured to be relocating to Hamilton, before the team signed a new two year arena lease agreement with Erie.
Team owner and general manager Sherry Bassin says the club's appearance in our city doesn't mean the Otters will be moving north anytime soon.
But he believes the OHL will pay close attention to how the training camp and exhibition games are received in the community.
The Otters will play an exhibition game at the Morgan Firestone Arena against the Niagara Ice Dogs on August 31st.
Tickets for the game are 10-dollars and a portion of the proceeds will support the Rotary Splash Pad Project.
Erie will then face the Quebec League's Rouyn-Noranda Huskies at the new North Wentworth Arena in Flamborough on September 1st.
Tickets to that game are 12-dollars, or 10 bucks with a donation to the Flamborough Food Bank.
