The City of Hamilton will look at extending the Protective Plumbing Program, but council won't be debating it until the middle of next month.
The program officially ended on July 18th, four days before the torrential downpour that flooded basements in parts of Hamilton and Binbrook.
It provides up to 2-thousand dollars towards a sump pump and valve to stop sewage backups.
Councillors will debate whether to extend or "top up" the program on August 13th.
As well, Binbrook councillor Brenda Johnson will put forward a motion to “reactivate” a program to provide compassionate grants of up to a thousand dollars for each victim of the July 22 flooding.
