It is the business community's annual bid to get thousands of people out of their office towers and onto the streets of the city core.
Hamilton's Downtown BIA has launched its summer promenade in Gore Park -- which includes live music, food trucks and other vendors every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday through the balance of the summer.
Mayor Bob Bratina describes it as a stepping stone in the revitalization of the downtown.
He adds that the next step will be to get the long awaited reconstruction of the Connaught Hotel property started, hopefully by year's end.
The construction of the MacNab Street transit terminal means city busses are no longer idling in Gore Park --- allowing restaurants to make better use of their patios alongside a new pedestrian walkway.
