Common sense seems to have escaped a pair of drivers in the city last night.
Around 9 o'clock, an officer stopped at the lights at Main and Cope watched as the guy next to him sped off the line, squealing his tires.
The tire squealing continued onto Weir Street before the driver stopped at Central Avenue.
A 22-year-old man from Canfield (southeast of Binbrook) has been charged with stunt driving and will have his car impounded for seven days.
A couple hours later, a vehicle was clocked at 167 in a 70 on Mud Street at First Road West.
Police say the 22-year-old man was also impaired and has been charged accordingly.
