One Hamilton councillor isn't a fan of building a casino in Hamilton.
And Sam Merulla wants Hamilton to have a referendum to decide.
Merulla tells CHML that the standard was set in 1997 when the province was looking at adding casinos.
He says the province needs to put a moratorium on the process, and he's not sure how they can after setting a precedent in 1997 with a referendum to dertimine where the present casinos are located.
Yesterday, Mayor Bob Bratina told CHML that Hamilton would be "in" if the OLG looked at our provincial zone for a new casino.
