A 41 year old Hamilton man has been given a six year prison sentence for a vicious attack on a local sub shop owner.
Adam Exley, who is described as a crack addict, has a lengthy record, including prior convictions for robbery and assault with a weapon.
He was on probabtion when he robbed Murphy's Subs on Dundurn Street South last June.
Exley, beat owner, Albert Murphy with a tree branch, causing the 66 year old to suffer a brain hemorrhage and recurring headaches.
Exley has been given seven and a half months deducted from his sentence for pre-trial custody.
