Rescue workers in Elliott Lake have removed a body from the rubble of a caved-in mall.
Mayor Rick Hamilton confirmed the news this morning, calling it "a deep, deep tragedy."
Some rescue workers took off their hard hats as the stretcher was carried out.
The identity of the victim has not been released.
Ontario Commissioner of Community Safety Dan Hefkey says rescue workers have returned inside the mall and are likely to recover more bodies.
At least one person was killed when the mall's roof collapsed Saturday afternoon.
Officials say at least two people were trapped inside.
