The stairs leading to the base of Webster's Falls are closed to the public as of this weekend.
The Hamilton Conservation Area says the stairway is inadequate the handle the growing number of visitors to the area over the last few years.
The banks of Spencer Creek above Webster's Falls have also been fenced off to prevent people from entering the water and accessing the brink of the 22 metre waterfall.
Visitors can still view the falls from above at a number of safe viewing platforms.
