One man is dead -- another is recovering in hospital after a shooting in Hamilton.
Officers were called to 16 Milton Avenue in the Barton and Sanford area around 6 o'clock yesterday evening.
There, they found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds.
Both men were rushed to hospital and at 8 o'clock, 23-year-old James Bajkor was pronounced dead.
The other man -- a 34-year-old -- received life-saving surgery for his injuries and is in stable condition.
Detective Sergeant Matt Kavanagh says neither victim lived at the home, but it was owned by Bajkor.
He says police have no suspects at this point but there are 'persons of interest.'
A woman taken away from the scene in handcuffs was released after she turned out to be a witness.
When asked, Kavanagh refused to say whether or not drugs were involved -- but said the incident was not random.
A firearms expert from the Centre of Forensic Sciences is assisting police in figuring out exactly where at the home the shooting took place.
This is the city's second homicide of the year.
