A Hamilton man is facing charges in connection with international allegations of extortion, child pornography and child luring.
The FBI tipped off Hamilton Police that a man had been posing as a young girl on social media sites to befriend boys and young men in the UK, US and here in Canada.
It's alleged the accused chatted with victims via webcam and recorded images and video of them disrobing.
He then threatened to post them unless the boys went further.
Police say the victims' photographs, in some cases, were shared with friends and relatives.
Detectives seized computer equipment from a home on the mountain on April 25th and yesterday, 21-year-old Robert Ellis was arrested.
He's charged with extortion, possession of child pornography, luring, making child porn and making it available.
The investigation continues as authorities believe there are a number of other boys in the UK, US and Canada who chatted with and exposed themselves online to the accused and police working to identify them.
The email address used by the accused was Jess_babe95@live.com
