The controversial gag order proposal on those who file integrity compaints against city councillors has been given the push.
The city sub-committee looking at the idea, unanimously, voted to throw out the gag order. It would have prevented complainants from discussing their issue in public under the threat of it being tossed.
This follows a discussion at the committee level last when when the interim city solicitor advised that the idea likely wouldn't survive a challenge under the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
