Looks like the city's food voucher pilot project for the poor is a no go.
Hamilton's Board of Health voted 9-4 against a proposed 20 dollar voucher system that was to provide those on social assistance with fresh fruit and vegetables from area farmers' markets.
The five month pilot project would have cost the city about 625-thousand dollars, but councillors said there could be serious problems with the plan from monitoring the cards to unfairly identifying those in need of help.
Council will have the final say tomorrow.
