A 23-year-old West Lincoln woman is dead after a weekend horseback ride turned tragic.
The woman was riding her horse on Mud Street near Park Road yesterday afternoon, when Niagara Police say the horse stepped into the path of an on coming pick up truck.
The impact killed the horse immediately and the woman was taken to West Lincoln Memorial Hosptial where she died a short time later.
The driver of the pick up from Smithville was not injured.
