The controversial idea to gag citizens who make integrity complaints about Hamilton City Councillors remains undecided.
The proposal would require any complaints to the integrity office remain secret and if word got out, the case would be thrown out. The general issues committee was taking a look at the idea and decided to send the issue back to a subcommittee to get some legal advise.
This despite being told by the interim city solicitor that the by-law could fly in the face of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
