Three Hamilton politicians are supporting the federal government's appeal of a court ruling that struck down Ontario's prostitution laws.
Councillors Sam Merulla, Chad Collins and Bernie Morelli argue that many of their lower city neighbourhoods could be "strongly impacted" by the ruling.
They are supporting the appeal based on "community standards" and the "direct and indirect consequences of condoning prostitution".
They plan to formalize their support within a motion at the next meeting of City Council.
