A happy ending for a Burlington girl.
Halton police have arrested a man after the 14-year-old girl's dog was stolen.
Investigators say the girl was walking the Shih Tzu poodle across the parking lot of an ESSO station on Plains Road East Monday evening when a man grabbed the dog and fled in a car.
Police arrested the man near his Burlington home yesterday.
32-year-old Luc Bernard is charged with theft and will appear in court for a bail hearing today.
Police say the dog, named "Jackson", is in good health and was happily reunited with his family. Halton Police say the prompt and extensive media coverage of the incident was instrumental in the arrest of the suspect.
