Just days after Thomas Mulcair toured the oil sands in Fort McMurray, the Harper government is sending ten cabinet ministers across the country to tout its environmental initiatives.
Rona Ambrose will be in Calgary selling the government's re-branded resource development plan that will create jobs and prosperity without devastating the environment. Under the changes, there will be a limit in number, duration and scope of environmental reviews on major resource projects such as the Northern Gateway pipeline.
Natural resources minister Joe Oliver opened the campaign in Gatineau, Quebec this morning. He says the goal is to promote investment and business confidence while strengthening environmental standards.
