The noose is tightening, according to Mayor Naheed Nenshi.
This comment comes as city officials say they are closing in on those responsible for cutting down the city trees in the southwest community of Brittania. Police say they have good quality images from surveillance video from nearby homes. It's believed the tree-cutting happened over a month ago while many in the neighborhood were away for March break.
Meanwhile, Nenshi hopes those responsible would just step forward and end the mystery of whether this was all about a good view of the city's core, or just a careless lumberjack.
