Shell Canada may have just earned itself a nod from the environmental community. The company has purchased 1,820 acres of land that will be conserved.  The land is near its oilsands operations north of Grande Prairie and has been renamed Shell True North Forest.  John Abbott, Executive Vice President of Shell said in a release the company plans to accelerate reclamation projects at its mines and develop technologies to reduce land disturbance in the future.  The parcel of land is nearly twice the size of Stanley Park and has a mix of woodlands, grasslands, wetlands and many other habitats.  The company says it has excellent road access and wil be a great place for Albertans to hike and bird watch.
