Good Call coach

I thought it was a tough decsion to make. For Kavis Reed it wasn't. After the Eskimos struggles at QB and on offence  this season, many beleived that Matt Nichols would become the Eskimos starter after a pretty solid first career start in Calgary.  Two days after that game, Reed, newly installed as the OC of the Eskimos said the start vs Hamilton was going to Kerry Joseph. Reed said Joseph gave the Eskimos the best chance to win.

Good call coach.

Joseph, healthy for the first time in a couple of weeks, and a day after turning 39, put up great numbers, and played like he was 29. He ran and threw with authority, and directed the Eskimos to their best offensive performance of the season in a 35-20 win over Hamilton.

Joseph threw for 359 yards and 3 TDs. He ran  35 yards.

Maybe most important, he brought Fred Stamps back into the offence. 9 catches for 204 yards. Stamps first time over 100 yards in almost a calender year. Joseph was determined to get the ball to the Esks best receiver even though it was not easy.  The first attempt to Stamps, on the Eskimos first offensive play of the game , was dropped , the 2nd was intercepted, the 3rd went off Stamps hands and incomplete, the 4th  was a reception , but called back due to a penalty.  Finally the 5th attempt was complete for 23 yards and the Joseph to Stamps combo continued from there.

Stamps said he before the game he was sick of loosing, he played like a winner Friday night. So did Joseph.

Good call coach.
