Hey Josh here with another blog!
As the Olympics are coming to a close we can look back on many triumphs and tragedies. Some including a stunning Olympics from our women's soccer team. Especially Christine Sinclair with a hat trick against the Americans and eventually a bronze medal. But I will admit they have reason to say they got ripped off. Those delay of game violations on a goalie is very rare. If it has an important outcome on the game, which it did you can’t make that call! Also, I know the soccer ball touched their arms, but they were putting them up to defend themselves. It is a handball if you intentionally put your hands on the ball to stop play. Not if you want to block your face from a soccer ball!
Another great performance was Usain Bolt with three more gold medals to add to his total of many, many medals. When you run against this guy, unless your Yohan Blake you have no chance at beating him when he’s on his game!
Canada did have a great Olympic games! Most of Canada’s Olympic medal hopes were able to deliver with a medal. If they weren’t able to make it to the podium then they would clock a personal best or a top five finish! Overall, I feel that we had an impressive Olympics considering that I would say we are stronger at the winter olympics because here in the great north, we live skiing, boarding, hockey and anything that has to do with snow! Am i right winter people? Let me know what you thought about the Olympics for Canada! Who had a good Olympics? Who didn’t? I want your opinion!
Lets talk Eskimos now. Joe Burnett is an absolute stud! First there was the interception return touchdown against BC, and now the Riders get a taste of just how dangerous Joe Burnett can be when you don’t pay as much attention to him. That was a huge turning point for the Eskimos after being down 17-10 thanks to a touchdown run from Darian Durant. Calvin McCarty put it out of reach for the Eskies who had a very strong performance coming out of the bye week. With adding Cory Boyd to the mix though, there might be some problems. What happens when or if Jerome Messam comes back? Does Hugh Charles move to the bench like last year when Messam WAS here? How will Cory Boyd fit in after apparently not fitting in with the Argos? All of those questions will have to be answered in order to make this move work. The gamble worked with Messam but will it be two times luck for Tillman? As they welcome Anthony Calvillo and the Als hopefully those questions will be answered.
Is anyone excited for the upcoming hockey season like me? Well thanks to Gary Bettman, we might not have an NHL season due to his forceful nature. I guess he decided he likes getting booed and so he is set force that if the NHLPA could not come to an agreement by September 15th, he would lockout the players. Twitter is going insane with hate for Gary Bettman. Hopefully there won’t be a whole year without an agreement! From an Oilers standpoint, Nail Yakupov wants to play for the Oilers, not in the KHL. What happens to him though if there is a lockout? Does he go back the to Sting and blow up the CHL? Does he like the idea of going back to Sarnia? Will he turn out like Radulov?
See you next
