As we get ready for the Olympics to begin, I have seven burning questions on my mind:
1. Will NBC show any actual events, or just fill their coverage with profiles of American athletes who have overcome hardship?
2. Will anyone remember the names of any Canadian medallists for more than a day after they're on the podium?
3. How many people will describe dressage as "figure skating for horses?"
4. Will the livestock used during the opening ceremony upstage a rumoured video appearance by Queen Elizabeth?
5. Can that dude from the Gillette commercials still do a good job jumping off that springy thing after he hit his head on it?
6. After seeing Simon Whitfield and Paula Findlay both medal in triathlon, how many Canadians will briefly consider taking up triathlon before realizing it's strenuous enough walking from the couch to the fridge and back?
7. What time does Donovan Bailey run?
