It would appear as though I've survived 2 weeks without Primeau. Lesley returns on Monday and I can go back to running things twice a week rather than 5 times. It's a good exercise for me to run the board for 10 straight shows including a remote and a breaking news day. It's an opportunity to get better at hitting all the right buttons at all the right times. I also enjoy the opportunity to work with the various personalities around this building. Each of them bring something different to the studio and working with new people keeps things feeling fresh. It's interesting to me how each of them approaches radio differently and watching them gives me new perspective on how to do this job.

Now that summer seems to have finally arrived it's time to start planning our annual camping trip. We go to Ol' MacDonalds near Stettler for about 10 days every year. We used to tent it, then we borrowed a motor home, then we owned a motor home and now we borrow again. The MacDonalds are close friends of ours and it's my buddy Kevin MacDonald who always manages to find us something to sleep in every year. I realize that's not really "camping" but it's no cruise ship either. We pretty much cook everything on an open fire or a Coleman stove, we spend 90% of our time outdoors, and we almost always end up rushing someone to the Stettler hospital before the trip is over.
My big kids join us for at least part of the trip. Sometimes co-workers camp too. We always have a few comedians and radio ...

I reached a milestone today... I finished the dental work that's taken 7 visits and over 10 hours. I'm relieved. I had resigned myself to just having painful teeth for the rest of my life thinking that it would take too long and cost too much money to fix. I'm grateful Dr. Ron Gibb reached out and talked me into coming to his office. Now that it's behind me it really wasn't that bad at all. I also started back to the gym this week. I'm not doing a full work out but I knew it was time to go back the day I ate my first pizza since the surgery. If my appetite has returned so will the weight and I want to get back on track with my new healthy life. The surgery actually caused me to lose another 5 or 6 pounds.
