Justin Trudeau has announced his candidacy for the Liberal Leadership. With that came some interesting comments. There were those who scoffed immediately based on his name. Those who scoffed immediately based on his looks (no wonder our country is in trouble, those idiots actually get to vote). Sabres were rattling by the pundits who said he doesn’t stand for anything; he has no experience, no platform. Then there were those who said he was an empty headed pale comparison of his father. WOW!!
At least there was reaction. At least people know who he is. That might help the Liberals right out of the gate. Frankly before we dismiss him we should see what he stands for. It would be nice to hear the positions of one younger than other leaders. Maybe that younger voice is something we need. Maybe the old boys network needs a bit of a shake up.
I have no idea where the Liberals are going but they need a change. Deborah Coyne, who announced her candidacy in June, is a seriously smart cookie; but she has very little experience. She looks at issues very carefully with great calculation. Will Mark Garneau run? We wait with baited breath to see who tosses their name and $75,000 in the hat. Canada needs an infusion of new blood, will this be it??
