I put it out there on Facebook over the weekend but I guess it won't hurt to repeat it here. I have  a great fundraising opportunity for a group, team, school, charity or organization. Basically you can raise over $1000 pretty painlessly.

We have shows at The Duke of Argyle Pub in the 4 Points by Sheraton on Argyle as part of the 2012 Edmonton Comedy Festival Friday, October 19th and Saturday October 20th at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. These shows will feature 5 professional comedians each and were all sold out last year. The tickets sell for $25 each and the room holds 150 people.

The Edmonton Comedy Festival will sell your group 100 tickets at half price ($12.50 + gst) but print them with their actual face value of $25.00 + gst. Your  group resells them at face value and $1250 profit is made for your group without organizing anything. No silent auction, no door to door chocolate sales, no writing 100 companies looking for donations. The evening is guaranteed to be a success because these are some of the best comedians in the country performing in a friendly and fun bar and you go into the evening with the money raised already in your hands. We do all the work, provide all the entertainment and audio/visual... you just provide the audience.

Here are the only conditions:

The Edmonton Comedy Festival  must be paid 100% in advance for 100 tickets at $12.50 + gst =  $1,312.50. If your group cannot sell the tickets we are not taking them back. You have to go into this determined to sell 100 tickets. If you decide to give tickets away to special guests that is up to you but we are not refunding any part of our share. The first  group to agree and give us the cheque is the one that  gets the fundraiser and picks the show they want. We will also sell 50 tickets to your show at full price and that is our revenue.

In the past this has worked brilliantly with a number of charities and organizations.  If you have a sports team, for example, with 25 players each parent buys 2 and sells 2 and you're sold out. It's really just that simple.
